If you own a home on Cape Cod*** and you're on this page, then you probably have an innovative/alternative (I/A) septic system buried somewhere in your yard. If you don't live on Cape Cod and you know you don't have an I/A system buried in your back yard, then that's okay too. If you have anything else buried in your yard that doesn't belong there, then this page probably isn't for you.

What is an "I/A System"?

In short, an I/A system is a smaller version of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). While a commercial WWTP can treat hundreds of thousands of gallons of wastewater in a day, your onsite WWTP is connected to your home only and treats a few hundred gallons of wastewater in a day.

Like a bigger treatment plant, an I/A system contains a number of mechanical parts, from pumps and switches to filters and relays. We're not talking about your run-of-the-mill standard "Title 5" septic system here. Because of this increased complexity, I/A systems need to be maintained and monitored to make sure they are working.

What does this have to do with me?

According to our records, you may own or are responsible for a home that utilizes an I/A system for enhanced wastewater treatment. At some point, your town board of health required that an I/A system be installed at your property.

So why am I here?

Glad you asked. We're always thinking up creative ways to make I/A systems work better. We've developed a way for you, the owner, to gain access to the electronic records for your system, so that you become better acquainted with that hulking piece of technology buried in your back yard.
